Coaching

and Mentoring

I’m an International Coaching Federation (ICF) qualified coach and also provide mentoring support.

Mentoring is about sharing experience and opinions which inevitably comes with the expectation of advice. It’s a form of support which is, if not prescriptive, then at least directive and heavily suggestive.

Coaching is not about offering end solutions. It’s about eavesdropping on a client’s thought processes, holding a mirror up to them, and reflecting them back. Seeing and reviewing their own thought processes can often be a revelation to clients, creating insightful and powerful motivators for change.

On this basis, I don’t give you answers. I don’t prescribe solutions. Even if that’s what coaching was all about (and it isn’t), how could I possibly tell you what to do? What fits with one person, won’t necessarily be right for another. I start from the basis that you’re already capable of working out the course of action that’s aligned with your values and flow. Together, we identify that direction, and uncover how to move towards it, and how to achieve your goals.

How do I work?

In the first instance, just email me or complete the contact form, including providing your phone number. We can then schedule a phone or video call, without any obligation or cost.
The purpose of the call is to see if there is a good fit between what you’re looking for and my style of coaching. Within the call, we may explore:

• What’s your reality right now?
• What would you like to change?
• What would you like to happen to make that change
(and what might the barriers be)?
• How we could work together to move you towards your goal

We’ll also discuss costs, structure and timings and by the end of the call, we’ll know if the coaching chemistry is right for us.  And if it’s not – and I can’t stress this enough – that isn’t a problem for me and it certainly doesn’t mean that coaching isn’t right for you. Not every coach is the right fit for every person! But the first step in making a change, is making a move.

“Happiness is not the absence of problems. It’s the ability to deal with them.”
