The Road To

WordSmithory

I’ve always had a passion for writing, whether it’s been journaling, short stories and scripts, or creating promotional, marketing and event copy for clients and my own businesses.

And once I’d published my book, it doubled up as quite an effective business card, with the Universe presenting even more writing opportunities, so adding a copywriting hat to my millinery collection. I’ve worked with dozens of clients across all manner of projects, such as web copy, blog posts, news articles, awards entries, brochure content… whether one-offs or on an on-going basis.

Stories matter, regardless of the subject or the sector. I’m equally happy writing about insurance as I am recruitment, construction to promotional merchandise, general business to telecoms. I just enjoy working with the written word and understand that copywriting isn’t just about the words per se or getting a message across. It’s about tone, pace, accuracy, continuity, editing, time estimation and crafting a story to be shared with other human beings

Having set up and run my own businesses, (which in themselves required extensive copywriting), I also became adept at optimising websites for organic searches. Incorporating this SEO skill with writing, as well as understanding how to optimise the back-end of WordPress websites, meant my own business could be found on page one and two of Google, using only organic searches. I now replicate this for my clients.

If you’re unsure whether you should work with a freelance copywriter – I get it.

Many people feel they can do it themselves, or at least in-house, but before you decide, take a look at this article: 9 Reasons Why You Shouldn’t Work With A Professional Crafter Of Copy.

And if you’re still curious – let’s have a no obligation chat.

That’s all there is to it. Everything that’s ever been created has started with a chat. And if, following our chat, we go no further, no toys shall leave the pram! But if you’re interested, we can discuss a trial period or a test project.
